The first "big" job I did - rebuilding the leaky power steering rack
Replacing the front and rear struts
First major hurdle - accidental offroading. But at this point, I was confident and stubborn. I hadn't admitted defeat yet and I wasn't going to let a door stop me from working on my own damn car.
New (old) door, taken from a parts car. It was in rough shape, but the bones were there
It's on!
Some shots of the door internals. This door was from a different model year, and the electronics were slightly different, but easily adapted compared to a more modern car.
The original harness, from 1989. Not too different from DTM pins and heatshrink!
The crusty old lock actuator. This door had been sitting for a long time.
Sorting out the outer handle. Lots of moving parts!
Finally buttoning up the door card and interior release handle.
This is the bellhousing and clutch fork, about 5 feet away from where they should be. I had to remove them to do the hardest job on this car I've done yet - changing the clutch. It involved dropping the transmission and driveshaft, removing the entire clutch assembly, and putting it all back together again. I should have taken more pictures, but I had my hands full at that point.
Taking some critical measurements for my distributor replacement. As part of my Speeduino ECU project, I needed to replace the distributor with a hall effect sensor to get timing information, and implement fully sequential ignition and injection.
